【Product Introduction】

This is a Hamilton pocket watch manufactured around 1940. It's a rare piece that belongs to the grade 992B, 21-jewel specification and is especially notable for being a military watch. While the black dial 4992B is famous as Hamilton's military watch, this piece features a porcelain dial with Montgomery numerals.

This military watch is truly a treasure. The dial is in excellent condition, and the craftsmanship of the mechanism, as well as its accuracy, make it an exceptional piece. It's recommended for those who might not prefer a black dial or collectors of Hamilton watches.

The dial is a high-end porcelain dial with Montgomery numerals (numbers 1 to 60 for minutes). Recently, there have been several inquiries about Montgomery dials on watches like the 992 or Buren's, and since we obtained a fine piece, we decided to present it here.

There is minimal dirt or signs of use due to age and wear. The hairlines and chips are absent, leaving the dial in a beautiful state. The distinctive Arabic numerals used by Hamilton enhance its visibility. Finding a 992B with such a pristine dial is quite rare, so this is a unique opportunity.

The case is made of BASE METAL. It's a durable alloy case that was commonly used for military watches of that era. It has a screw-down case, making it easy to open and close even for beginners. Based on the markings, it's believed to be the original case. (Original cases tend to be popular.)

The back case bears the distinct markings of a military watch, and the sense of aging and texture is impressive. The grooves on the sides enhance its ease of use, making it a practical piece.

But above all, the highlight of the 992B is its magnificent movement. The bridge of the movement features a "cote de Geneve," a traditional and beautiful stripe pattern also known as Geneva waves. It shimmers differently depending on how light hits it. This is one of the delights of Hamilton's 992. This particular piece is no exception and looks stunning, with minimal rust or scratches, and good operability as shown in the images.

In June 2021, this piece underwent domestic overhauling. It currently has a daily deviation of approximately +15 seconds in both horizontal and vertical positions. (Please note that deviations are not covered by warranty, and we only guarantee the watch's functionality. Due to various reasons, we've only provided horizontal position values since December 2020. For continued practical use, we recommend regular servicing.)

The operation of the crown is smooth, and setting the time (lever-set mechanism) and winding the mainspring can be done seamlessly. Even beginners will find it very user-friendly.

【Size】

Approximately 51mm excluding the crown.
Thickness is about 14mm.
Weight is 102g.

While Hamilton's mechanical watches remain popular even today, enjoying this vintage Hamilton mechanical pocket watch would be a pleasure. This 992B is both a military watch and features Montgomery numerals, which is rare. It's suitable for collectors seeking a uniquely elegant piece.

It's user-friendly even for beginners, and considering the effort and cost of overhauling as well as the condition, this price is quite reasonable. We encourage you to consider adding this to your collection during this opportunity.
